Today’s thoughts… Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009; 3:07 p.m. “HOW COME?”
October 29, 2009
While Marvin Gaye sings in the background from another web browser, I am here and posting some thoughts for the day. I read in the NY Times that Nancy Pelosi offered up a 1,990 page document from the House to serve as our National Healthcare Document. Have you read it? I downloaded the document today and will read it. Hon. Harry Reid (?) has an alternate from the Senate, right? So how come? How come the Congress and the Senate are not simply writing a document that provides the exact same health insurance program for us as they receive as our public servants and elected officials? Why is there such debate that a 1,990 page document is required? Was this the requirement for Congress to obtain its healthcare package? How come? How come we, the citizens, who ordered to make a more perfect union in 1776, are not receiving the exact same healthcare as Congress or the Senate? How come?
“…Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences shall conduct an evaluation and report on standards of evidence for highly credible research.”
Page 1,347 and continuing… quite an incredible document in spite of terms like quality and surveilance and some scary agencies to be created… this bill covers lots of bases.
A national health workforce paying off student loans. A grand idea for enhanced public healthcare and triage services. Some very good stuff. Follow the money. The trust funds. The agency structure. The oversight.
All things considered, that is one helluva document! Congratulations on getting to SECOND BASE. What’s next?
